How to Get a Girlfriend or Achieve Any Goal
By Kurt Spelling
We all know about the new year’s resolution cliche’. Everyone goes to the gym for the first two weeks of every new year and then never goes back. Everyone eats super healthy for the first two weeks and then breaks down and grabs some McDonald’s. Everyone runs more, sleeps more, works harder, dedicates themselves to themselves in some way or another…for the first two weeks.
Then, for 99% of us, it’s all gone. The habits slowly slip back to the previous years. We put back on the weight, stop making time to cook the healthy food, etc. This is why I’ve decided to write this article on New Years Eve.
Hopefully, most of you can find it before tonight!
What I intend to do here is show you how to properly craft effective new years resolutions (goals), and actually make them happen, whether that be getting a girlfriend, losing weight, making money, or whatever else you desire!
So first thing’s first, how to craft an effective statements of intent.
Whether it’s how to get a girlfriend, or anything else you want to make happen, it will happen a lot quicker with a goal, written down, and a statement outlining your specific desires. The more specific you get with yourself the more likely you will actually achieve your statement. I do this with all goal setting, which is really what a New Year’s resolution is.
Say in the past, you would have defined this resolution or goal as “I’m going to get a girlfriend”.
Weak!!
Here is an example of a strong resolution which will have much more of a chance of completion.
“In 2010 I’ve become a person who puts an increased focus on their relationships and social efforts. By December 30th 2010, I will have increased my abilities with women to the point where I have created a life that is abundant in women, and will have found a perfect girlfriend who fits my exact specifications. I feel happy, energetic, loved, and value my new relationship and the joy it brings to my life. I appreciate the long lasting abilities gained in learning how to get a girlfriend and live joyously knowing that if I need to, I can always fill my life with the love I deserve.”

Are you seeing the difference in the power here? Get specific with yourself and you become accountable for failed expectations, which motivates you. It’s great to write the goal as if it’s already been achieved. If you look at my first statement you’ll see that I didn’t say “In 2010 I want to”, it’s I have, as if I’ve already done it.
Now this goal was written very quickly. Here is the real trick to making the process REALLY work. Read your goal, over and over again. This may seem ridiculously monotonous to you guys, but I’d suggest reading it over 100 times. As you do, pay attention to your feelings and emotions. What you’ll notice is that some of the sentences don’t really vibe with your core. As you read the repetitions of your goal, certain sentences will strike a dissonance inside you. Pick out these sentences and rework them until they seem perfect to you, till your goal is an absolute 10 on a scale of 1 to 10 for overall awesomeness! This is going to fast track you on your way to getting the girlfriend you truly desire, or whatever else you’d care to achieve.
After you’re final goal statement is crafted, you’re now halfway to actually achieving your goal! I suggest you read it over at least once or twice a day every day to keep yourself reminded of it throughout the year.
The second step is actually making the goals happen, and here’s the trick:
Underachieve. Every day, underachieve a little. Sound’s counter intuitive, but the main issue is that people try to make TOO large a leap. They go from never hitting the gym to five times a week. Or from never leaving the house to forcing themselves out five times a week. It’s no wonder that people can’t keep this up! It’s just to much change to handle at once.
If you set your long term goal with the process above, and then underachieve on short mini goals on a daily basis, you can actually achieve the long term goal! For example, start off with the gym twice a week for only 30 minutes. How easy could that be? 1 hour a week. Seems like a huge underachievement! But, this will make it mentally easy for you to committee too and NOT make excuses about why you can’t make it to the gym.
Want to get a girlfriend? Make your initial goal to go out once per week with the intention of meeting new women. Again, simple enough! Once per week is EASY to keep up. That’s the point.
You are slowly becoming the person who makes the goal happen, which is a crucial first step!
Anything you want to achieve, you must first become the person who has that success. So by slowly crafting your habit, through small daily underachieving intervals, you’ll actually make it out the other side!! Six months from now you’ll be HAPPILY going out six times a week (or whatever your method is for filtering new girlfriends into your life), because you took the time to step back and come at it with an organized, specific goal, and took baby steps towards achieving it.
By getting specific while setting your goal, and repeating your goals enough times to get core guidance, you will be able to craft a goal worthy of completion. If this goal is showing you how to get a girlfriend, I guarantee you’ll have a real deal chance at actually landing that girl you’ve been after! By reading your goal on a daily basis you will hold yourself accountable for it’s completion. And by taking what seems like underachieving baby steps towards that goal, you will actually be able to fully realize the goal, changing in a slow and achievable manner.
